BIRD TRILL / RING

Art - Sound Installation / 2007

This art-sound installation proposes an allegory of our current urban life and society, more and more synthetic. “Trill/ Ring “ is a sound and visual confrontation between a bird and a mobile phone. Sometimes the bird trills, sometimes the phone rings. The green neon lights creates a visual link between these two elements.

The typical urban birds from a capital city as Santiago (in this case a goldfinch), could remember the past background sound of the XVII century’s cities. Now they are replaced by the tipical mobile phone's "ring tone". So this installation proposes a aesthetical link between the urban past and the present one.

These images belongs to an exhibition in the Visual Arts Museum of Santiago, Chile (MAVI), in 2007.
